Inspired by the latest series of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on Amazon Prime, we present a playful but true saga:
In the radiant realm of Eregion, close to Selby, where elven artisans weave magic into every creation, laughter echoed through the silver halls. The elves had come across a curious piece of news from the land of Men. They chuckled as they read about carpet tubes featured in a publication, yet the accompanying image wasn't even of carpets!
"Look at this!" exclaimed Elenor the Wise, her eyes twinkling. "The Men write of carpet tubes, but their picture shows something entirely different!"
"Perhaps they confuse our cardboard tubes and label cores with their own creations," mused Thranduil the Brave. "It seems they struggle to grasp the true nature of our craft."
With amusement still dancing in their hearts, the elves decided to share their marvelous creations with the world beyond. "But beware," cautioned Elenor. "The road leads us past the treacherous Murky Mountains and near the realms of Men, close to the village they call Keighley. They may covet our label cores if given the chance."
Undeterred, the elves loaded their finest cardboard tubes and label cores onto wagons crafted from enchanted wood, each piece a testament to their unmatched artistry. With songs on their lips and hope in their hearts, they set forth under the silver light of the moon.
As they approached the Murky Mountains, the path grew steep and the air thick with anticipation, as the A650 is not a good road.
"Look there," whispered Arwen, pointing to the flickering lights. "The Men are vigilant tonight."
"Indeed," nodded Legolas. "But our cardboard tubes hold secrets they cannot fathom."
Using elven cloaks woven with spells of concealment, they shrouded their wagons, making them appear as simple merchant carts. As they neared the mill town, some of the Men watched from afar.
"I sense something unusual," murmured a villager. "Such fine craftsmanship... could it be the work of the elves?"
"You're imagining things," replied another. "Our own tubes are just as good—though they never seem to hold together," he added with a sigh.
Stifling their laughter, the elves pressed on, the Men oblivious to the precious cargo slipping right under their noses. Once they had passed beyond the reach of West Yorkshire, the elves let out a collective sigh of relief.
"Victory is ours!" cheered Galadriel. "Not even the ambitious Men of Bronte land could halt the delivery of our splendid cardboard tubes and label cores."
To celebrate, they crafted flutes from spare label cores, filling the night with melodies that danced among the stars. Their journey continued, bringing the unparalleled quality of elven-made cardboard tubes and label cores to grateful hands far and wide.
And so, the tale of the elves' daring passage past the Murky Mountains to delivery cores in the town of Men became legend—a story of ingenuity, courage, and the triumph of superior craftsmanship over the ambitions of those who would imitate without understanding.
Yet, in the whispers of the wind, it is said that unseen ears listen closely, and that even among Men, there are those who understand the elven tongue and eagerly follow the tales woven by elven voices.
